The Bougeois Cagliari
This walk commences in the historic quarter of Castello. Having paid a visit to the Museum Complex, you will come across artisan handcraft boutiques, churches, historic buildings and old streets; following an interesting visit to the Cathedral you can climb the Torre dell’Elefante. By lunchtime we will have reached the old Marina quarter where lunch will be served in a typical restaurant (mixed entrées, two first courses, two second courses - meat, sweets, digestifs, wine and soft drinks). After lunch we will proceed with a visit to the underground Roman city of sant’Eulalia and the fascinating church of Ss. Sepolcro with its crypt and baptismal font. The walk continues towards the Stampace quarter and a visit to the crypt of Santa Restituta and the other beautiful churches in the area with their particular rites and traditions. The tour starts at 10am and terminates at 6pm; the cost includes a foreign-speaking guide, all entrance fees, lunch, sweetmeat tasting in a workshop in the historic quarter, a visit to a pottery workshop and all printed information.
