Underground Cagliari
On leaving piazza Yenne, there will be time for a stop in a charming old café for a cappuccino and a pastry, then heading on towards Stampace to visit the churches and monuments of this old quarter. On reaching the Roman amphitheatre a guide will lead you on a tour of the underground passages extending for hundreds of metres and entirely lit by candlelight, housing both a huge Roman cistern and premises used as a refuge by the Piemontese. The day proceeds with the tasting of Sardinian produce in a typical tavern in the historic quarter. The tour will end at approximately 3pm and includes: coffee break, foreign-speaking guide, entrance fees, printed matter, tastings and group leader.
On request, this tour can be done by quad, carriage, mountain bike, scooter, tourist train.
